3337.10 Ohio university college of osteopathic medicine.

There is hereby established the Ohio university college of osteopathic medicine the purpose of which shall be to provide instruction in the practice of osteopathic medicine. The college shall be a component college of Ohio university. The clinical instruction portions of the medical program shall be provided through the facilities of existing osteopathic and joint staff hospitals. The college shall have an advisory committee of ten members, which shall consist of the president of Ohio university or the president’s designee and nine members appointed by the governor with the advice and consent of the senate. Within one hundred-twenty days of November 17, 1975, the governor shall make initial appointments to the advisory committee. Of these, three shall be for terms ending two years after November 17, 1975, three shall be for terms ending four years after that date, and three shall be for terms ending six years after that date. Thereafter, terms of office shall be for six years, each term ending on the same day of the same month of the year as did the term that it succeeds. Each member shall hold office from the date of appointment until the end of the term for which the member was appointed. Any member appointed to fill a vacancy occurring prior to the expiration of the term for which the member’s predecessor was appointed shall hold office for the remainder of such term. Any member shall continue in office subsequent to the expiration date of the member’s term until the member’s successor takes office, or until a period of sixty days has elapsed, whichever occurs first.
