4758.51 Continuing education.

(A) Except as provided in division (B) of this section and in accordance with rules adopted under section 4758.20 of the Revised Code, each individual who holds a license or certificate issued under this chapter shall complete during the period that the license or certificate is in effect not less than forty clock hours of continuing education as a condition of receiving a renewed license or certificate. To have an expired license or certificate restored, an individual shall complete the number of hours of continuing education specified in rules adopted under section 4758.20 of the Revised Code.

(B) The chemical dependency professionals board may waive the continuing education requirements established under this section for individuals who are unable to fulfill them because of military service, illness, residence outside the United States, or any other reason the board considers acceptable.
