1704 - Statutes enacted at a special session.

§ 1704. Statutes enacted at a special session. (a) General rule.--Statutes enacted finally at a special or extraordinary session of the General Assembly shall, except as otherwise provided in this section, be governed as to the time when they shall be effective by the rules of construction specified in this chapter for statutes enacted finally at regular sessions of the General Assembly. (b) Rules applicable between 1935 and 1969.--Statutes enacted finally at special or extraordinary sessions of the General Assembly during the periods hereinafter specified shall be effective on the date specified by that one of the following rules of construction in effect on the date of final enactment of the statute: (1) Final enactment on or after June 11, 1935 and before January 10, 1960.--immediately upon final enactment unless a different date is specified in the statute itself. (2) Final enactment on or after January 10, 1960 and before June 6, 1969.--60 days after final enactment unless a different date is specified in the statute itself.
