§ 9344. Audits. By December 31 of each year, an independent counsel shall prepare a statement of expenditures for the fiscal year that ended on the immediately preceding June 30. An independent counsel whose office is terminated prior to the end of the fiscal year shall prepare a statement of expenditures within 90 days of the date on which the office is terminated. The Auditor General shall audit each statement and report the results of each audit to the appropriate committees of the General Assembly no later than March 31 of the year following the submission of the statement.
