1711 - Preventing registration.

§ 1711. Preventing registration. (a) Prohibition.--No person may do any of the following: (1) Knowingly and intentionally prevent an applicant who is a qualified elector from being registered. (2) By coercion, threats of bodily injury or intimidation, intentionally prevent or attempt to prevent an applicant who is a qualified elector from being registered or a registered elector from changing political enrollment in accordance with the provisions of this part. (3) Intentionally give or promise or offer to give money or goods to an individual as an inducement for the individual to enroll in a particular party or for a registrant to change political enrollment. (4) Prevent a record from being used, inspected or copied. (b) Penalty.--A person who violates subsection (a) commits a misdemeanor of the first degree and shall, upon conviction, be sentenced to pay a fine of not more than $10,000 or to imprisonment for not more than five years, or both.
