§ 8248. Approval of refunding by the electors. The governing body of any local government unit may also obtain the approval of the electors to any refunding of nonelectoral or lease rental debt in the manner prescribed for an original issue by Subchapter C of Chapter 80 (relating to procedure for securing approval of electors) and may issue general obligation bonds or guaranteed revenue bonds or incur other obligations in the refunding if approved by the electors regardless of the class of bonds, notes or obligations originally issued.
