4976.1 - Permit for movement of live domestic animals.

§ 4976.1. Permit for movement of live domestic animals. (a) Authorization.--An annual permit may be issued authorizing the movement on highways of live domestic animals which exceeds the maximum gross weight specified in Subchapter C (relating to maximum weights of vehicles). The weight of any combination permitted under this section shall not exceed 95,000 pounds gross weight, and the weight on any nonsteering axle shall not exceed 21,000 pounds. No permit may be issued for this type of movement upon an interstate highway. (b) Definition.--As used in this section, the term "domestic animal" shall have the meaning given to it in 3 Pa.C.S.
