§ 1-6-2 - Surcharge on transient parking in district. - Rhode Island Statutes

SECTION 1-6-2

   § 1-6-2  Surcharge on transient parking indistrict. – There is imposed on all transient parking in the district a surcharge in anamount equal to five percent (5%) of transient parking receipts. The surchargeshall be collected by the operator of each facility providing transient parkingin the district and remitted by the operator to the tax administrator not laterthan the twentieth (20th) day of the month following the calendar month inwhich the transient parking was provided. The tax administrator may require thefiling of any forms with any information that the tax administrator mayreasonably determine is necessary to carry out the provisions of this statute.The surcharges collected by the tax administrator under this section shall bedeposited upon receipt in a special account, denominated as the Warwick airportparking district account. At annual or more frequent intervals, amountsaccumulated in the Warwick airport parking district account shall be remittedto the treasurer of the city of Warwick to be held as part of the general fundof the city of Warwick.
