SECTION 10-4-4

   § 10-4-4  Recording and notice ofassignments. – Every assignee under this chapter shall immediately cause the deed ofassignment to be recorded in the registry of deeds in each town or city inwhich there may be real estate of the assignor on which it may operate, and inany event in the registry of deeds of the town or city where the assignorresides or is located, and shall immediately give public notice of his or herqualification, with notice to all creditors to present claims and all debtorsto make payments to the assignee, in some newspaper published in the county inwhich the assignor resides or is located; and the assignee shall immediatelyalso notify creditors by depositing like notice in the United States mail,postpaid, and directed to the creditors at their respective address as theyappear in the schedule made by the assignor and filed with the assignee.
