SECTION 10-9-27

   § 10-9-27  Transfer or concealment ofprisoner with intent to avoid writ. – Every person who shall have in custody or under his or her power any personentitled to any writ of habeas corpus, whether any writ has issued or not, andwho shall, with intent to elude the service of a writ of habeas corpus or toavoid the effect of a writ of habeas corpus, transfer the prisoner to thecustody, or place him or her under the power or control, of any other person,or conceal him or her, or change the place of his or her confinement, shallforfeit and pay to the party aggrieved thereby one thousand dollars ($1,000).
