§ 11-1-5 - Compounding or concealing felony.

SECTION 11-1-5

   § 11-1-5  Compounding or concealing felony.– Every person who shall be convicted of having knowledge of the commission ofany felony offense, and of taking any money, gratuity, or reward, or anyengagement, upon an agreement or understanding, express or implied, to compoundor conceal that crime or offense, or not to prosecute for the offense, or notto give evidence relative to the offense, shall be imprisoned not exceedingfive (5) years or be fined not exceeding five thousand dollars ($5,000),provided that the person shall not be subject to a fine or imprisonmentexceeding the felony pertaining to this offense.
