SECTION 11-17-9

   § 11-17-9  Importation or possession ofcounterfeit coin with intent to pass. – Every person who shall bring into this state or have in his or her possessionor custody any false or counterfeit coin, made and forged in imitation andsimilitude of any gold or silver coin current within this state by law orusage, knowing it to be false or counterfeit, with intent to utter or pass itin payment as true, shall be imprisoned not exceeding ten (10) years nor lessthan two (2) years.
