§ 11-27-14 - Penalties for violations.

SECTION 11-27-14

   § 11-27-14  Penalties for violations.– Any person violating any of the provisions of this chapter shall, upon a firstconviction, be imprisoned for a term not exceeding one year, or fined notexceeding five hundred dollars ($500), or both. Any firm, corporation, or otherentity violating any of the provisions of this chapter shall, upon a firstconviction, be fined not exceeding five hundred dollars ($500). Every personhaving been convicted of a subsequent offense involving the unauthorizedpractice of law in this state or in any other jurisdiction shall, for eachoffense, be imprisoned for a term not exceeding five (5) years, or be fined notexceeding five thousand dollars ($5,000), or both. Every firm, corporation, orother entity having been convicted of a subsequent offense involving theunauthorized practice of law in this state or in any other jurisdiction shall,for each offense, be fined not exceeding five thousand dollars ($5,000).
