SECTION 11-9-13.10

   § 11-9-13.10  Prohibition on thedistribution of free tobacco products. – The distribution of free tobacco products or coupons or vouchers redeemable forfree tobacco products to any person under eighteen (18) years of age shall beprohibited. Further, the distribution of free tobacco products or coupons orvouchers redeemable for free tobacco products shall be prohibited, regardlessof the age of the person to whom the products, coupons, or vouchers aredistributed, within five hundred (500) feet of any school. The attorney generalshall bring an action for any violation of this section. Every separate freetobacco product or coupon or voucher redeemable for a free tobacco product inviolation of this section shall constitute a separate offense subject to a fineof five hundred dollars ($500). The penalty shall be assessed against thebusiness or individual responsible for initiating the Rhode Island distributionof the free tobacco products or coupons or vouchers redeemable for free tobaccoproducts.
