SECTION 11-9-20

   § 11-9-20  Sale of matches. – (a) No person, firm or corporation that owns, manages or operates a place ofbusiness including vending machines shall knowingly sell, give or delivermatches to any child under the age of twelve (12) years. The owner, operator ormanager of a place of business where matches are sold shall post a notice ofthis law conspicuously in the place of business in letters at leastthree-eighths of an inch ( 3/8") high. Signs required by this section may beprovided, at cost, by the department of health.

   (b) Any person violating the provisions of this section shallbe fined one hundred dollars ($100) for each offense.
