   § 12-1.2-7  Powers and duties of director.– (a) The director shall have general supervision over the administration of andshall enforce the provisions of this chapter. He or she shall recommend to thecommission any rules and regulations that he or she may deem necessary toeffectuate the provisions of this chapter and shall be responsible for theadministration of the policies established by the commission.

   (b) The director shall be responsible for preparing an annualoperating budget and submitting it to the dean of the College of Pharmacy atthe University of Rhode Island, who will in turn submit it to the commission.

   (c) The director shall collect, develop, and maintainstatistical information, records, and reports as the executive secretary or asthe commission may determine relevant to its functions and transmit quarterlyto the executive secretary or the commission a report of the operations of thestate crime laboratory for the preceding quarter.

   (d) The director shall exercise all powers and perform allduties necessary and proper in carrying out his or her responsibilities thatmay be directed by the executive secretary or the commission.

   (e) The director shall timely provide records, reports orother information pertaining to the operation of the crime laboratory wheneverrequested by the executive secretary or the commission.
