SECTION 12-1-1

   § 12-1-1  Rewards offered by governor.– Whenever any murder, attempt at murder, robbery, or other high crime, shall becommitted in the state, and the perpetrator shall escape detection, or shallescape from custody or imprisonment, either before or after conviction, thegovernor may issue his or her proclamation offering a suitable reward, notexceeding one thousand dollars ($1,000), for the apprehension of the offender.
