SECTION 12-17-5
§ 12-17-5 Continuance of trial toconclusion after opening to jury. – Notwithstanding the provisions of § 8-7-2, and notwithstanding theprovisions of any other law previously enacted, whenever a criminal trial shallhave been opened to a jury the trial shall continue to its conclusion.
