§ 12-19-25 - Warrant for commitment to institutions.

SECTION 12-19-25

   § 12-19-25  Warrant for commitment toinstitutions. – Whenever any person shall be sentenced to imprisonment, the clerk of the courtpassing the sentence shall immediately issue a warrant, under the seal of thecourt, directed to the sheriff or the sheriff 's deputy of the county in whichthe court is held, reciting the sentence and requiring the sheriff or thesheriff 's deputy to take the person and deliver to the warden of the adultcorrectional institutions and the warden to receive the person into his or hercustody and safely keep him or her in the institutions during the termspecified in the sentence, and the warrant shall constitute the officer chargedwith it, while he or she has it in his or her possession for service, anofficer in any county in this state into which it may be necessary for him orher to go, to all intents and purposes whatsoever.
