SECTION 12-19-5

   § 12-19-5  Imprisonment to commence atexpiration of previous term of imprisonment. – Whenever any person shall be convicted of any offense punishable byimprisonment, that person being at the time under sentence of imprisonment on aformer conviction, the court passing the subsequent sentence may sentence theperson to the term of imprisonment provided by law to commence at theexpiration of the term of imprisonment under the former sentence or sentences.
