§ 12-9-18 - Commitment awaiting requisition.

SECTION 12-9-18

   § 12-9-18  Commitment awaiting requisition.– If, from the examination before the judge, it appears that the person beingheld is the person charged with having committed the alleged crime and, exceptin cases arising under §§ 12-9-7 and 12-9-8, that the person has fledfrom justice, the judge must, by a warrant reciting the accusation, commit himor her to the adult correctional institutions for a time not exceeding thirty(30) days and specified in the warrant, as will enable the arrest of theaccused to be made under a warrant of the governor or on requisition of theexecutive authority of the state having jurisdiction of the offense, unless theaccused give bail as provided in § 12-9-19, or until he or she shall belegally discharged.
