SECTION 14-1-53

   § 14-1-53  Effect of pendency of appeal.– The pendency of an appeal in the case of a child shall not suspend the order ordecree of the family court, nor shall it discharge the child from the custodyof the court or of the person, institution, or agency to whose care the childshall have been committed, unless by writ of habeas corpus unless and until thesupreme court or any justice of the supreme court shall so order.
