SECTION 15-23.1-615

   § 15-23.1-615  Jurisdiction to modifychild-support order of foreign country or political subdivision. – (a) If a foreign country or political subdivision that is a state will not ormay not modify its order pursuant to its laws, a tribunal of this state mayassume jurisdiction to modify the child-support order and bind all individualssubject to the personal jurisdiction of the tribunal whether or not the consentto modification of a child-support order otherwise required of the individualpursuant to § 15-23.1-611 has been given or whether the individual seekingmodification is a resident of this state or of the foreign country or politicalsubdivision.

   (b) An order issued pursuant to this section is thecontrolling order.
