§ 16-16-2 - Membership in system. - Rhode Island Statutes

SECTION 16-16-2

   § 16-16-2  Membership in system. – Membership in the retirement system for teachers began on July 1, 1949, andshall consist of:

   (1) All teachers as defined in this chapter who were inservice on that date, and

   (2) All persons who become teachers on or after that date,which teachers shall become members of the system as a condition of theiremployment as teachers.
