SECTION 16-16-43

   § 16-16-43  Purchase of credit whileserving a prison sentence prohibited. – Notwithstanding any other provisions of the retirement law or rulings of theretirement board in accordance with the powers vested in the board, no teachershall be allowed to purchase service credits for time while incarcerated inprison, including, but not limited to, work release programs or homeconfinement programs.
