SECTION 17-8-9

   § 17-8-9  Local boards open on electionday. – In addition to duties as otherwise fixed by law, it shall be the duty of thelocal board to keep open on all election days, from the hour fixed for theopening of the polls until the hour fixed for the closing of the polls, and toremain in session during the hours at a regular place of meeting of the board,council, or other body.
