SECTION 20-12-4

   § 20-12-4  Fishways. – For the purpose of providing for the passage of anadromous fish species totheir traditional spawning grounds in fresh water, the department ofenvironmental management is authorized and directed to construct fishwaysaround or through existing dams in the rivers and streams of this state. Theowners of those dams shall cooperate with the department of environmentalmanagement and shall not be liable for any damage as the result of theconstruction of the fishways.
