   § 21-28-3.23  Advertising controlledsubstances. – No practitioner, manufacturer, or wholesaler shall solicit by publicadvertisement or otherwise application to him or her for prescription for, orsales of, controlled substances, or shall publicly advertise any treatment theprincipal element of which consists in the administering, dispensing,furnishing, giving away, or delivering of a controlled substance, except, thatthe manufacturer or wholesaler may advertise in journals and publications or byother means intended for circulation among the medical profession and drugtrade generally.
