SECTION 21-28-5.10

   § 21-28-5.10  Inspection of records –Information or knowledge obtained confidential. – Prescriptions, orders, and records required by this chapter, and stocks ofcontrolled substances, shall be open for inspection only to federal, state,county, and municipal officers, whose duty it is to enforce the laws of thisstate or of the United States relating to controlled substances. No personhaving information or knowledge by virtue of his or her office of anyprescription, order, or record shall divulge or shall be required to divulgethat information or knowledge, except in connection with a prosecution orproceeding in court or before a licensing or registration board or officer towhich prosecution or proceeding the person to whom the prescription, orders, orrecords relate is a party. Any personal records of individual use of controlledsubstances shall be destroyed after two (2) years unless the records relate toan on-going judicial proceeding.
