   § 21-31.1-18  Penalties. – Any person who violates any provision of this chapter shall be imprisoned fornot more than one year or fined not more than five hundred dollars ($500) orboth; provided, that if any person commits a violation after a conviction underthis section becomes final, that person shall be imprisoned for not more thanthree (3) years or fined not more than fifteen hundred dollars ($1500), or both.
