   § 22-7.10-2  Duties. – It shall be the duty of the joint committee on energy to promote and encouragethe development of effective and efficient plans, programs, strategies, andstandards for energy conservation, energy efficiency, and energy resourceprocurement, use and development, including renewable energy, and in thefurtherance to this purpose, it shall be the duty of the joint committee toprovide oversight of the implementation of standard offer service through 2020and all agencies and instrumentalities of the state with responsibility forenergy programs, including, but not limited to, the office of energy resources,the Rhode Island energy efficiency and resources management council, the publicutilities commission, and the division of public utilities.
