§ 23-17.13-1 - Purpose. - Rhode Island Statutes

SECTION 23-17.13-1

   § 23-17.13-1  Purpose. – The legislature declares that:

   (1) It is in the best interest of the public that thoseindividuals and care entities involved with the delivery of plan coverage inour state meet the standards of this chapter to insure accessibility andquality for the state's patients;

   (2) Nothing in the legislation is intended to prohibit ahealth care entity or contractor from forming limited networks of providers; and

   (3) It is a vital state function to establish these standardsfor the conduct of health plans by a health care entity in Rhode Island.
