SECTION 23-17-10.1

   § 23-17-10.1  Financial regulation ofhealth maintenance organizations. – Any health maintenance organization licensed under this chapter whose rates areapproved by and whose financial condition and methods of doing business areperiodically examined by the director of business regulation, and which wasactively engaged in the provision of or making available to enrolledparticipants health care services prior to January 1, 1982, shall be exemptfrom financial regulation imposed by the licensing agency pursuant to theprovisions of this chapter.
