§ 23-19.1-10.3 Emergency and temporarypermits. (a) The director is authorized to issue emergency permits for the storage,transportation, treatment, or disposal of hazardous waste when the directorfinds that a situation, if not immediately remediated, presents an imminenthazard to the public health or safety, or to the environment.
(b) The director is authorized to issue temporary permits forthe storage, treatment, or disposal of hazardous wastes for the purpose ofexpeditiously remediating an existing site of hazardous waste contamination.Temporary permits shall explicitly prohibit the acceptance of hazardous wastefrom off-site for treatment or disposal and shall be valid only for the periodspecified by the director.
(c) Permits issued under this section shall meet thesubstantive standards delineated in the rules and regulations promulgated underthe authority of § 23-19.1-6 insofar as is practicable.
