   § 23-19.12-2  Declaration of purpose.– The purpose of this chapter is to ensure the public health and quality of theenvironment of the state by vesting in the department of environmentalmanagement the power necessary to regulate and license persons and other legalentities engaged in the generation, transportation, storage, treatment,management, and disposal of regulated medical waste.
