§ 23-19.3.1-2 - Definitions. - Rhode Island Statutes

SECTION 23-19.3.1-2

   § 23-19.3.1-2  Definitions. – As used in this chapter:

   (a) "Check valve" means a mechanical valve that permits gasesand liquids to flow in only one direction, preventing process flow fromreversing.

   (b) "Dwelling unit" means a structure or portion of astructure providing complete, independent living facilities for one or morepersons, including permanent provisions for living, sleeping, eating, cooking,and sanitation, and containing a separate means of ingress and egress asdefined in subsection 45-24-31(24) of the Rhode Island general laws.

   (c) "New residential construction" means new buildings orportions thereof to be occupied as dwelling units or buildings and portionsthereof changed for residential occupancy.

   (d) "Substantially altered sewer connections" means anyexisting sewer connection that is replaced or expanded for use by a dwellingunit.
