   § 23-27.3-100.1.7  Effect of local codes– Repeal of local authority. – The local building codes and ordinances shall remain in effect until theadoption of the state building code, July 1, 1977, and the local cities andtowns shall be prohibited from enacting any local building codes and ordinancesin the future. Inconsistent local charter provisions pertaining to the adoptionof the codes and ordinances shall be restricted within the intent of thissection.
