SECTION 23-27.3-107.8

   § 23-27.3-107.8  Restriction on employees'activities. – Neither the building commissioner, nor any full-time building officials, orfull-time local inspectors, as defined in this code, shall be engaged in, ordirectly or indirectly connected with, the furnishing of labor, materials, orappliances for the construction, alteration, or maintenance of any building orstructure, or the preparation of plans or specifications therefor for thestate, in the case of the building commissioner, or within the municipality inwhich he or she is respectively employed in the case of a building official orlocal inspector unless the individual is the owner of the building orstructure; nor shall any officer or employee associated with the buildingdepartment of the state or municipality engage in any work which conflicts withhis or her official duties or with the interests of the department.
