SECTION 23-3-12.A

   § 23-3-12.A  Delayed registration of deathand marriage. – (a) When a death or marriage occurring in this state has not been registered, acertificate may be filed in accordance with regulations of the state directorof health. This certificate shall be registered subject to evidentiaryrequirements that the state director of health shall by regulation prescribe tosubstantiate the alleged facts of death or marriage.

   (b) Certificate of death and marriage registered one year ormore after the date of occurrence shall be marked "delayed" and shall show ontheir face the date of delayed registration.
