SECTION 23-33-16

   § 23-33-16  Issuance and posting ofcertificate. – Whenever a compliance inspector or an authorized inspector shall have inspectedany existing elevator or device and shall have found it safe for operation; orwhenever any repairs required by the inspector to be made on any existingelevator or device shall have been completed to his or her satisfaction; orwhenever in the case of any elevator or device hereafter installed, the chiefshall have satisfied himself or herself, by inspection, or otherwise, that itmay be safely operated; or whenever in the case of any elevator or devicehereafter erected the chief shall have satisfied himself or herself that theelevator or device complies with the standards and rules set forth in the codeof rules, the chief shall, upon payment of the required fee stated in §23-33-12, issue to the owner of the elevator or device the certificateauthorizing the operation of the elevator or device, stating the date of theissue of such certificate, which shall be renewable annually, but shall bevalid until revoked. Each certificate shall be conspicuously posted by theowner of the elevator or device in the cars of elevators or in conspicuousplaces contiguous to other devices.
