   § 23-33-24  Inspections – Notice ofviolations. – It shall be the duty of the compliance inspectors appointed or empowered by lawto inspect all elevators and other devices subject to the provisions of thischapter in every building within their jurisdiction in any city or town, and itshall be the duty of the compliance inspectors to notify the lessee and owner,or some one of the owners, of every building in which an elevator or otherdevice shall be used or operated contrary to the provisions of this chapter, ofthe violation and require the lessee or owner or some one of the owners of thebuilding, within thirty (30) days after the receipt of the notice, to complywith the provisions of those sections, and it shall be the duty of the lesseeand owner, or owners, to comply with that requirement.
