SECTION 23-61-9

   § 23-61-9  Use of the radon controlappropriations. – Funds appropriated shall be used to carry out the provisions of this chapter,including but not limited to, personnel costs, operating costs, and capitalexpenditures associated with the regulatory and public education mandatesplaced on the department by this chapter, as well as the development andimplementation of the building codes for radon resistant construction. Thedepartment is further authorized to enter into contracts for the purpose of:developing building codes for radon resistant buildings; developingconstruction techniques for mitigation of radon in existing buildings;conducting training relevant to all changes in building codes adopted pursuantto authority conferred by this chapter; and to otherwise carry out the mandatesof this chapter.
