§ 23-70-1 Purpose of chapter. The legislature finds that:
(1) Osteoporosis, a bone-thinning disease, is a major publichealth problem that, in many cases remains undiagnosed, resulting in fractures,pain, disability and immobility;
(2) Early detection and prevention are critical health carestrategies for those at risk of osteoporosis; and
(3) It is in the public interest of this state to promotepublic awareness of the benefits and value of the early detection, preventionand appropriate treatment of osteoporosis.
