SECTION 24-1-15

   § 24-1-15  Exchange of property. – Whenever in the opinion of the city or town council a substantial saving in thecost of acquiring title can be effected by conveying other real property, titleto which is in the city or town, to the person or persons from whom the estateor interest in real property is being purchased or taken, or by theconstruction or improvement by the city or town of any work or facility uponthe remaining real property of the person or persons from whom the estate orinterest in real property is being purchased or taken, the city or town councilshall be and hereby is authorized to convey such other real property of thecity or town to the person or persons from whom the estate or interest in realproperty is being purchased or taken and to construct or improve any work orfacility upon the remaining land of the person or persons.
