   § 25-2-44  Cesar Chavez Day. – The thirty-first day of March shall annually be set aside to be known as "CesarChavez Day" and the governor shall issue an annual proclamation inviting andurging people of the state to observe this day in suitable places withappropriate ceremonies. "Cesar Chavez Day" shall be remembrance of theaccomplishments of Cesar Chavez on behalf of our nation's farm workers. TheUnited Farm Workers of America, AFL-CIO under his leadership was, and is, aforce for economic and social justice for farm workers. He shall also beremembered for conducting this struggle utilizing the principles of nonviolence.
