SECTION 25-3-9

   § 25-3-9  Employee's remedies. – Every employee who is discharged, disciplined, or discriminated against by anyemployer in violation of the provisions of this chapter shall be entitled tomaintain a civil action in a court of competent jurisdiction. If judgment isrendered in the employee's favor, he or she shall be entitled to reinstatementand double the amount of back pay and allowances lost as a result of thedischarge, discipline, or discrimination, together with interest on the amountat the rate provided by law, attorneys fees, and costs and expenses of theaction.
