§ 27-10-2 Persons exempt. The provisions of this chapter shall not apply to the following:
(1) An attorney at law acting in the usual course of his orher profession;
(2) Either an insurance producer of a domestic insurancecompany or an insurance producer duly licensed by the insurance commissioner,when the insurance producer adjusts, or assists in the adjustment of, claimsarising only under policies of insurance or fidelity or surety bondsnegotiated, solicited, or effected by him or her or by the insurance producer,whether the insurance producer is a person, partnership, or corporation, forwhich he or she acts; or
(3) Any employee or agent of a company, or an insuranceproducer licensed by the commissioner, who acts in the settlement of claims oftwo thousand five hundred dollars ($2,500) or less.
