SECTION 27-8-17

   § 27-8-17  Payment on claim for firecoverage of motor vehicle – Statement required. – No payment shall be made by the insurer of loss or damage to an insured vehicleon a claim for fire coverage as provided in § 27-8-1(6), until the insuredhas filed a statement in conformity with the provisions of § 27-8.1-2.1,and the insurer has, within a reasonable time, reviewed the statement anddetermined that no fraud was involved. If the insurer denies the fire coverageclaim, then the insurer shall provide appropriate notice within a reasonableperiod of time of the denial of coverage to all lien holders, if any, of theinsured motor vehicle.
