§ 27-8-8 - Privilege against self-incrimination.

SECTION 27-8-8

   § 27-8-8  Privilege againstself-incrimination. – No person shall be excused from attending and testifying or producing anybooks, papers, or other documents before any court upon any investigation,proceeding, or trial for a violation of any of the provisions of § 27-8-7,upon the ground or for the reason that the testimony or evidence, documentaryor otherwise, required of that person may tend to convict him or her of a crimeor subject him or her to a penalty of forfeiture; but no person shall beprosecuted or subjected to any penalty or forfeiture for or on account of anytransaction, matter, or thing concerning which that person may testify orproduce evidence, documentary or otherwise, and no given or produced testimonyshall be received against that person upon any criminal investigation orproceeding.
