§ 28-25-21 - Local ordinances void.
SECTION 28-25-21
§ 28-25-21 Local ordinances void. –(a) No city or town shall have the power to make any ordinance, bylaw, orresolution concerning, or to provide for the inspection, or to license theerection or installation of, any boiler or pressure vessel within the limits ofthe city or town. Any ordinance, bylaw, or resolution previously made or passedor concerning any of the above matters shall be void and of no effect.
(b) Any application made to municipalities shall beimmediately forwarded for consideration and inspection to the division ofoccupational safety.
(c) No municipality shall issue a mechanical permit for workrelated to installation, repair, or alteration of any boiler or pressure vesselcovered under this chapter until the application for the installation, repairor alteration has been approved by the division of occupational safety whereapplicable.
